Miriam Baker (FCLC ’19) has an entire list in the “Notes” section of her phone devoted to drinks, sandwiches, and pastries she spent all summer waiting to try at Argo Tea when she finally got back to Fordham University at Lincoln Center.
Baker had always considered herself a medium Hibiscus Tea Squeeze® and Red Pepper Panini kind of gal, but a summer with no internship, job, or friends left her with plenty of time to reevaluate her entire life. “I really need to start taking advantage of all the city has to offer. I’d say the biggest problem with the suburbs is how little food is available after 9PM. But Argo Tea stays open until 10. I mean, unless it’s a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.” At the top of Baker’s list are all five kinds of muffins and the iced Maté Latté™Teapuccino®. She’s taking some risks, too, and willing to try the bubble tea that the majority of the student body hates, and anything that has an egg in it. “I feel like I’ve missed out on so much already. Where was I when they introduced those brioche sliders? I was playing it safe, ordering my ‘nini like I always do. I’ll never hold myself back like that ever again.” |
